Sofiya Nzau teams up with Madism to breathe Afro House life into Robert Miles’ classic

Thirty years ago, Robert Miles made music history with ‘Children’ – a track that blended emotional piano melodies with club-ready rhythms, climbed to #1 in more than a dozen countries, and laid the foundation for the dream house/dream trance movement. Today, the iconic instrumental returns in a whole new form with a voice that carries it straight into the African savanna on‘Hutia’, an afro house reinvention featuring Kikuyu lyrics performed by Kenyan singer-songwriter Sofiya Nzau.

About Robert Miles

Born Roberto Concina in Switzerland in 1969 and raised in italy, Robert Miles made music history on the mid-90s. With Children, he delivered not only a worldwide hit in 1995, but also shaped an entire genre: Dream House, a fusion of haunting piano melodies and club-ready beats. His debut album Dreamland topped charts across the globe, sold millions of copies, and earned him accolades such as the Brit Award. However, Miles was far from a one-hit wonder; albums such as 23:AM and Organik schowcased his vision for electronic music as a realm of atmosphere, emotion and sonic experimentation. Later, he launched his own label, S:alt Records, and collaborated across genres and disciplines. Although he passed away in 2017 at the young age of 47, Robert Miles´s legacy continues to echo in clubs and playlists worlwide – a reminder that dance music can carry both energy and emotional depth.
