“20 Years of Music” – that’s huge! When you look back at the young Lexlay who played his first gig, what would you tell him today?
I’d tell him, “You’re in for a wild ride.” Back then, I had no idea how far the journey would take me, or how many ups and downs I’d go through. I’d remind him to stay patient, stay hungry, and enjoy the process because every step, even the tough ones, shape who you become.

What’s one behind-the-scenes story from making this album that no one knows yet?
There’s a track I almost didn’t include. I felt it was too personal and didn’t know if people would connect with it. But after sharing it with close friends, they all said it had to be on there. That reminded me how important it is to be vulnerable with your art sometimes. Can you guess which one it could be?

What’s been the wildest or proudest moment under the Happy Techno?
Throwing a sold-out party at La Terrrazza in Barcelona, with the sun setting and the whole crowd moving in sync… That’s something I’ll never forget. It wasn’t just a party, it felt like a family reunion. That’s when I knew Happy Techno had become more than a label, it was a community.

Tech house scene evolve massively over 20 years. What’s the biggest change you’ve witnessed?
The speed. Music trends come and go way faster now. Social media, streaming, TikTok… everything moves in real time. But the heart of the scene, the connection through rhythm, hasn’t changed. That’s what keeps it alive.

Looking at the new generation of producers and DJs coming up now, what advice would you give them about longevity in the scene?
Don’t chase hype, build something real. Take your time to develop your own sound and your own voice. Trends are temporary, but authenticity lasts. And always treat people with respect. This industry is smaller than it looks.

What’s one thing on your bucket list you still haven’t done?
I’d love to do a live set with real instruments, maybe even with a small orchestra or some kind of Latin fusion. Something totally outside the box for me. It’s scary but that’s how I know it’s worth doing.

After such a monumental release, how do you see the next chapter? More music, new sounds, new adventures?
Definitely all of that. This album felt like closing one chapter and opening a new one. I’m already experimenting with different sounds, maybe something deeper, maybe something more organic. I’m also excited to grow and support the next wave of artists. The journey continues!
