We met Klaudie at the beautiful Petunia Ibiza, overlooking the iconic Es Vedrà. Originally from the Czech Republic, Klaudie was shaped by the vibrant electronic music scene in Miami, where she lived and developed her sound. Now based in Marbella, she has Ibiza just a short trip away and this summer, she held a residency at Cova Santa with PIV. We sat down with her to talk about her Ibiza story, Cova Santa, her music, her label We Are The Problem and everything that keeps her inspired. Enjoy her inspiring story.
Interview With Klaudie:
Hello everyone, I’m here with Klaudie next to me at a beautiful Petunia. How are you and how are you enjoying Ibiza vibe?
I love the Ibiza vibe. I’ve been coming here this entire summer. I think nine times already. So back and forth, back and forth. I do love it. Yeah, it’s a beautiful place.
What’s your favorite thing about here, actually?
I mean, I think it’s just people live for music here. You don’t really get that vibe anywhere else, and then you have this, you know, beauty as well as the music scene. So it’s like a very nice combination. You can chill, you can get a little crazy. You have the best of both worlds.
Today you’re going to play at Cova Santa, which is a very famous club here, and you had your residency over the summer. Tell us the story which stays in your mind from Cova Santa this year.
Story this year… I think that would be I played at Cova Santa downstairs in the club, and I think that was one of my favorite moments ever. I really played my heart out, and it was the first time I got like the proper standing ovation. Didn’t know how to react. I’m not used to stuff like this. So I got like red in my face, and I was like… So that was pretty special. But I think overall, Cova Santa experience that stays in my mind was last year when I played back-to-back with Prank. The final set outside, that’s just so special, and that I will remember that forever.
Yeah, Cova Santa is a special place. How is the crew over there? Because they have such an amazing vibe, the people there, the artists. So tell us some favorite story with them.
Well, favorite story.. I think that the artist Liaison we’ve become really, really close, the one that works for PIV and just gotten very, very close over the last year and this year. And then I ended up playing a yacht party last week or two weeks ago. It was a private thing and we invited her, and she completely danced the whole night, brought the whole vibe. So that was a really cool one with her. And other than that, it’s just like the whole team, the whole PIV team at Cova Santa. It’s just sort of like one big family. It’s incredible. It’s a Prank, Jordi, everybody is just like one big family, and I love all of them. So it’s really special.
How would you describe PIV in three words for somebody that has never been there?
Happy, uplifting, groovy.
Yeah, it’s definitely a place to be, right?
Definitely. Best vibes.
You’re heading there today, as I already mentioned. What can we expect from your show?
I’m playing downstairs as the first set downstairs, and I’m planning to go a little bit more deeper and a little bit higher BPM than usual. A little bit different than when I play outside. So I’m trying to bring in lots of unreleased tunes that I got from DJ friends of mine to play them out. I want to play a couple of my new unreleased tracks also, so I’m ready to test them out, which should be exciting.

“Funky Fresh” is the tune you just released. Is that correct? What inspires you to create such a track?
I wanted to try that’s a very club-heavy weapon. Sort of like, okay, everybody’s not gonna dance and jump and all of that stuff, and I wanted to have that little bit of nostalgia in it because of the vocal, obviously, which is stripped back. And have a very chunky bassline in it. And I am a little bit obsessed lately with a garage sound, so putting garage synths in there and have it have that UK vibe, but have it still be me and feel a little bit of the ’90s vibe on top of it. So that was kind of the idea about it, and I think it translated. I’m not sure, but I think it did. So yeah, that was the idea.
The track was released on your own label, We R The Problem. What’s the vision behind the label?
We R The Problem, the initial vision was not really anything negative, which it might, you know, “We Are The Problem.” It was more about not having any boundaries and being like free and everything. And it was created as a platform for other artists, mainly, as well as myself. I wanted to discover new artists, give them the platform to release, sometimes even for the first time, which is like an amazing thing, and discovering these new talents that don’t have a platform and the ability yet, and put them out there. And as well, put my records out there that might not necessarily be fitting elsewhere, but I’m obsessed with it for some reason and I want to put it on my label. But really it was more like me and my husband, when we go out, we have like no off switch. We always joke around, “We are the problem.” So that’s kind of like where it came out of. But the theory behind it is what I just said. Yeah, just like a platform for everybody and bring it all in.
That sounds really cool. Well, what do you like the most about your job? Is it building the record label, or playing for the big crowd, or releasing the music, creating the music? What’s your favorite part of it?
I think it’s always been getting that adrenaline rush from the crowd when you’re playing. Have the energy from the people. It’s just like such a crazy natural high that it’s hard to explain to anybody. So that’s always been my favorite thing about it. Lately, I have to say it’s the production side, being able to put the vision out there from whatever is in my head and make a record out of it. I have been very passionate about it. My ideas are flowing, and that’s definitely a big part of what excites me now.
What’s the ultimate Ibiza track for you?
I think it would be everybody’s favorite closing track, Kerry Chandler, “You’re in My System.” That’s just every time I hear it, you think about end of the night and “You’re in My System.” So, you know, yeah, that one probably.
And what’s the party that you always love to come back to?
In Ibiza, it’s gotta be Amnesia, Metamorfosi, Joseph Capriati.
That’s our favorite as well. It’s amazing.
Seems that you have a good taste, definitely.
I hope so. Otherwise, you know, maybe I need to be fired.
