Eric Prydz has unveiled the first chapter of a brand new documentary in three parts, chronicling the story behind and production of his most technically advanced live show to date: Holosphere 2.0

The film takes us behind the scenes and into the creative processes of the artist and his team, as they take on the challenge of bringing Holosphere 2.0 to life. A cutting-edge demonstration of the intersection of technology, innovation and human creativity Holosphere 2.0 is currently in residence at Ibiza’s brand new ‘Hyperclub’ [UNVRS] with shows taking place every Monday night until September 1st 2025.
Shot on location in Ibiza, the documentary takes us from idea to (hyper)reality, introducing us to the producers, venue managers and effects specialists involved in this monumental production, and never before seen images of the show in full effect.
A new installment of the documentary will be released every Wednesday on the Eric Prydz YouTube channel. Watch the first chapter here.

THE NEXT DIMENSION
Designed from the ground up and engineered for Ibiza’s newest nightclub, Holosphere 2.0 is not a show, it’s a vision fully realised. Towering over eight metres high and weighing eight tonnes, the Sphere is the result of years of obsessive design and technical refinement, combining a live, reactive performance with a near-impossible feat of engineering.
At the heart of it all: Eric Prydz, surrounded by three transparent layers of custom LED screens, performing inside the world’s first holographic concert sphere. Unlike anything seen before in club culture, Holosphere 2.0 is an arena-scale show crafted for a dark, smoky rave environment. It’s not bound by a fixed storyline. It’s alive, unpredictable, and shaped in real-time by Prydz’s ever-evolving musical selections.
Eric Prydz:
“We’ve waited six years for this. Not because we wanted to, but because we had to. The technology needed to catch up with our vision as every single part of Holosphere 2.0 is bespoke and original. This is what we always dreamed of.”
BUILT FOR THE FUTURE
To build the Sphere, every component had to be custom made. Nothing was off-the-shelf. Engineered with precision, the structure strikes a razor-thin balance between engineering-grade strength and near-total transparency. A feat made possible by [UNVRS]’s cavernous main room and arena like-infrastructure, making it one of the only venues in the world capable of supporting it.
A dream team of animators and digital artists, including GMUNK brought the Sphere to life, blending cinematic CGI with practical effects captured in a studio in Los Angeles. Giant crystal orbs, plasma balls and burning glass were filmed in 360 degrees, laser-mapped, and stitched into immersive holographic environments — each loop a standalone digital sculpture.
The result is a generational leap forward in show content and visual fidelity. The resolution, pixel pitch, colour depth and engineering have all radically improved since the original Holosphere debuted in 2019. But be aware, this is not a sequel, it’s a complete reimagination of the iconic show concept.

ONLY AT [UNVRS]
Conceived by The Night League, the creative force behind Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza, and led by Owner, Founder and CEO Yann Pissenem – the venue represents a bold new chapter, part nightclub, part sculpture, part dream. Beyond its technical specs, the venue offers the creative space and freedom needed to push Holosphere 2.0 to its limits. With an arena-sized ceiling rig, bespoke lighting grid, crystal-clear L-Acoustics sound, and immersive production environment, developed in collaboration with world-renowned production company High Scream, [UNVRS] is not just a venue, it’s part of the performance. For Prydz and his team, the venue represents a perfect alignment: a radical new structure for a radically ambitious show.
