LoudLife had the unique opportunity to interview Greek producer and DJ Chris IDH, who was born in Athens and has found a deep connection to music since childhood. He drew inspiration from jazz, R&B and soul influences that shaped his perception of sound and emotion. While he shares this foundation with many other artists, what sets Chris apart is the way he has translated his passion into a lifelong career. Today, he is one of the prominent figures of the world electronic scene and his distinctive style combines tradition with a modern dance sound.

Hi Chris, great to connect with you! First off, congratulations on your brand‑new track My Mind with Isidoros, released on your label Sodade last Friday. The track has such a hypnotic and emotional feel, what was the creative process like in the studio?
Isidoros and I wanted to create something hypnotic but emotional at the same time, a track that feels powerful on the dancefloor but also has a story. We worked a lot with analog synths and layers of textures, constantly going back and forth until we hit that balance of groove and atmosphere.
Greek electronic music is having a strong moment, from your perspective, what’s important for an artist to break through today?
It is about finding your own voice. With so much music out there, authenticity and consistency are key. If your sound feels real and you keep putting in the work in the studio and on stage, people will connect with it.
Greeks love melodic sounds, so melodic house & techno, afro house, and progressive thrive there. Mykonos is famous, but what other Greek spots would you recommend for great parties?
Athens is on fire right now with amazing venues and crowds who are super open to melodic sounds. Santorini and Paros also have some incredible parties during summer, and Crete is definitely growing fast. There is a lot happening beyond Mykonos.
Imagine, you’re hosting a dinner party for three musicians, who gets an invite?
I would invite Sade, Jorja Smith, and Ry X. Imagine that table conversation.
When you’re not making music, what’s your guilty pleasure track or hobby?
I love digging into old soul and funk records, sometimes I will play them on repeat at home. As for hobbies, cooking relaxes me a lot when I am not in the studio or traveling.
What’s coming next for Chris IDH in terms of music, gigs, or projects?
More releases are coming on Sodade, including some collaborations I am really excited about. Gig-wise, I have shows lined up across Europe and Greece through the fall, and we are already planning special Sodade events for 2026.
Thanks so much for taking the time to chat with me, Chris — and I hope I get to hear you play live soon!
