With LoudLife, We went to Ibiza for the DJ Awards at Roto, where we had the pleasure of speaking with the winner of the Newcomer category, the talented and charming Olive F. This rising star already has an impressive list of gigs behind her and an exciting future ahead as one of the scene’s brightest new talents.
Interview With Olive F
Hi Olive, you just won the award! How do you feel right now?
Overwhelmed. I honestly can’t believe I was even in the category to be honest! It’s such a full-circle moment, I used to live and work here, and now I’ve just won an award for Ibiza. It’s incredible.
How was your 2025 season?
Chaotic! Very chaotic! unbelievable, and I’ve had barely any sleep. But at the same time, it’s been amazing.
Can you tell us the best story of summer 2025, something that really stays in your mind?
Gig-wise, it has to be the Paradise Closing at Universe. The main room filled up so quickly. I used to work for Paradise, so playing there was just chef’s kiss, amazing.
Winter is coming, what’s next for you? Any new music or projects you’re excited about?
Yes! I’ve got a really cool edit coming out in December on Moxie, and another one in January on Hood Tracks. There are also some things I can’t announce yet, but you can definitely expect big things in 2026.
You’ve just won the “Newcomer” category. How does it feel to be part of such an incredible event and the wider DJ community?
Honestly, I don’t feel worthy. We’re sitting at dinner now with people I’ve looked up to my whole teenage years, actual icons. It doesn’t feel real. I have to pinch myself every day and ask, “Is this really happening?” But it’s amazing. I love it.
Why do you think your success happened now? What’s your secret?
Olive: I’ve never taken anything seriously in my life before DJing. I just hadn’t found something I was truly passionate about. But once I started DJing, I wanted it so badly. I’ve worked so hard, and I really believe that when something’s meant for you, it happens.
And finally — we’re in Ibiza. What’s the best thing about it for you?
First, the music. Second, the energy is just next level. Everything here is so intensified, you can’t describe it. You either get it or you don’t. Every time I land here, I still cry, it’s that emotional for me. Ibiza will always be my home.
