Interview With Rolbac:

Hi Rolbac, welcome to LoudLife! It’s great to have you with us. How are you doing, and how’s your summer been so far?

I’ve been great and it’s been a hectic summer, super grateful for all the travel and bookings.

What was your creative vision behind your latest release, “Nevermind” on Unseen Records?

It began with an idea and an online sample rap verse. I wanted to keep it original though so tried finding an artist to work with, and I immediately thought of Karlmars – a friend and Lebanese rapper who fit the part perfectly.

You’re considered one of the biggest artists from the MENA region. How does your Lebanese heritage influence your music and artistic identity?
Lebanon has always shaped who I am and the energy, resilience, and richness of its culture are in everything I create. Carrying a piece of Beirut and Zahle with me keeps my music grounded and authentic wherever I play.

With releases on Einmusika, Senso Sounds, and now Unseen Records, how do you choose the right label for each track?
It’s about finding the right home for the sound as every label has its own identity. With Senso Sounds it happened by chance when Oliver Huntemann heard my tracks when I was closing for him in Beirut. He asked me to send the tracks over and I got signed. With Einmusika it started with one EP and since then we keep signing every few years.

You’ve had three Ibiza shows lined up this season. What does playing on the island mean to you as an artist?
Ibiza is still the hub of electronic music and has one of the best scenes in the world. The island has a unique energy that constantly attracts people from every corner of the globe, and being part of that always feels special. For me as an artist, contributing to what happens in Ibiza isn’t just about playing a set, it’s about being connected to the heart of the culture and sharing my sound in a place that truly sets the standard for our scene.

What role do you think Ibiza still plays in shaping trends in melodic techno today?
Ibiza continues to be a testing ground for new music and what works there often sets the tone for the rest of the scene. It’s where DJs try out unreleased tracks, labels spot new directions, and crowds give that instant feedback that can shape how music travels worldwide. The island still has a big influence in showing what sounds connect on a global scale.

Is the sound overall shifting, are you producing different genres?
Yes, my sound keeps evolving. I’ve always been versatile, and I’m constantly experimenting with different genres to keep things fresh and modern. I like exploring other influences because I think growth as an artist comes from pushing boundaries and not being afraid to adapt.
