Fifi Forte invited us to her beautiful Ibiza villa for a chat about her time on the island, her journey into music, and what’s next for her, just before leaving the island. Music has always been part of Fifi’s life. Her dad, a former DJ, introduced her to funky Chicago house and remains one of her biggest inspirations and her biggest fan, joining her at her shows and cheering her on from the front row. Surrounded by the Ibiza sunshine, we sat down with the talented London DJ to talk music, family, her latest releases, and her dream of one day having her own Ibiza residency. Fifi Forte is an artist we’re sure you’ll be hearing a lot more from.
Hello from sunny Ibiza! I’m here with Fifi Forte. How have you been enjoying your time in Ibiza? And tell us a little bit about your gig at UNVRS.
I played at UNVRS on Wednesday for Paradise, warming up the main room and handing over to Gaskin. It was amazing. The room filled up really quickly, and yeah, it was so much fun.
You’ve received support from some of the biggest names in the scene, including Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati and Jamie Jones. How does it feel to have artists like that supporting your music? Do you remember the moment when you thought, “Wow, this is really happening”?
I feel like there have been a few moments like that. Obviously, having my music played by these artists is amazing, but I think the moments that feel really special are when you get the call to warm up for or play alongside these artists. Those are the moments that really mean a lot to me. They remind me to keep going and that I’m on the right track.
What’s the next big goal on your list?
I’ve got a few, but I think the next big one is starting my own record label. I’d also love to have a residency here in Ibiza one day, with my own party. So yeah, there are a few things in the making.
Having your own Ibiza residency sounds like a pretty big dream. If you could create it tomorrow, where would it be and what would the vibe be like?
The vibe would definitely be fun and full of good energy. You’d want people to come back every week. I’d love it to be somewhere like Pacha. I love Pacha. I was actually there last night. I just love the sound system and the atmosphere there.
What do you think is the secret to your success? Because getting your own residency in Ibiza is a huge goal. What do you think an artist needs to have to reach that level?
I think that if you’re doing this because you genuinely love it and it’s your passion, everything will fall into place at the right time. I think if you just focus on what you’re good at and fully believe in yourself, everything will fall into place for you at the right time.
Do you remember the first time you fell in love with house music and this whole world?
Yeah. My dad used to be a DJ, so I was brought up on funky Chicago house. Growing up, that was a big part of my life and a big part of my musical DNA. I definitely feel like I try to bring elements of that into the music I’m making now. So yeah, it’s definitely played a big part in my journey, which I’m really grateful for.
So, is your dad proud?
Yeah, he’s super proud. I’ve definitely taken it a lot further than what he ever did, so he is very proud.
I saw that he came to Ibiza. Is he enjoying your shows as well?
He loves it. He’s always at the front of the stage, shouting. You can spot him from a mile away! He’s one of my biggest fans. He’s funny.
You’re also producing music, and you’ve just released a new EP “Gain My Trust.” Tell us a little bit about it.
Yeah, it’s a three-track EP that’s just recently come out on Dig In Records. I feel like the three tracks reflect a couple of different sides of my music taste and what I’m making, again bringing in elements from what I was brought up on. I’d say “4-4-4” is probably the one I’m playing the most at the moment. It’s groovy, rolling, and it’s exactly what I’m loving to play right now.
What feeling do you hope people get when they hear your music?
I want people to feel uplifted and want more. Just good vibes, really.
We’re in Ibiza, so what would your perfect day on the island look like?
It would be getting up, doing some yoga, going to the beach, sunbathing, swimming in the sea, having good food and watching the sunset. I feel like there’s a very special energy on the island, so it’s the perfect place to do all of that. And then, of course, partying at the end!

Yeah, yeah!
What’s your ultimate Ibiza track?
Oh, it would have to be “Blackwater” by Octave One. I feel like it’s such a timeless track, and it always takes me back to being here.
Is there a party in Ibiza that you could come back to again and again?
It would probably be Music On. I love Music On, the atmosphere, the crowd, the music. But I think Paradise as well. I love Paradise. That’s definitely a party I could go back to again and again.
And what’s next for Fifi Forte?
I have some releases in the pipeline and some very exciting shows across London and Europe. So yeah, there are a lot of exciting things coming up, and I can’t wait to share everything with everyone soon.
You’re from London, so how would you describe the London scene at the moment?
Yeah, it’s good. I feel like I’ve been playing abroad a bit more over the summer than I have in London. I’m playing in London on Friday at Koko with Ruze and Green Velvet, so that’s the next London show, which I’m super excited about.
