Mr. Polska: From Dutch Hip-Hop Icon To Techno’s Newest Force

After fifteen years in the music industry, Mr. Polska is stepping into a completely new chapter. Bringing his signature energy, a jar of Polish pickles and a live performance full of surprises, he is now making his way onto the biggest techno stages. What started as an unexpected shift in musical direction is quickly becoming something much bigger – a unique live act where the intensity of techno meets the charisma, spontaneity and wild energy of a true frontman.

In the Netherlands, the name Mr. Polska is synonymous with Nouveau Riche, mosh pits and
nostalgia. He broke through in the early 2010s as one of the most distinctive artists in Dutch
hip-hop. With hits such as Hausa Wausa (7.5 million streams), Allermooiste Feestje (10
million streams), Zusje (41 million streams), Krokobil (11 million streams) and Niemand (65
million streams), he became a staple on the biggest festival stages and in the Dutch charts.
For many, an unforgettable part of their musical upbringing.

In his native Poland, he also built a successful second career. With tracks such as Złote
Tarasy and Jagodzianki i Pistolet, he has established himself as a recognised name within
the Polish music scene. Together, these releases have accumulated more than 160 million
Spotify streams, built him a loyal fanbase and taken him to sold-out clubs and festivals
across the country.

Despite the international success, multiple gold and platinum releases and collaborations
with artists including Major Lazer, Yellow Claw, Ronnie Flex and Diplo’s label Mad Decent,
37-year-old Dominik is far from finished. It is time for a new chapter: a full-scale techno live
show that breaks away from what we currently know within the scene. And this step does not
come out of nowhere.

With Polska Jumpstyle, his collaboration with Natte Visstick and Vieze Asbak, Mr. Polska
quickly began trending within the harder electronic music scene. The track grew into a global
phenomenon with more than 42 million streams, was picked up by DJs including Sara
Landry, FANTASM, Nico Moreno and Diplo, and could be heard across virtually every major
techno and hard dance festival around the world last festival season, including the
MainStage of Tomorrowland. Follow-up releases such as The Otherside, Sneuvelnation VIP
and SPRING further confirmed this new direction. SPRING in particular became a viral hit in
Germany and has since grown into one of the more prominent festival tracks of the moment.

Now it is time to bring the energy of these tracks to the masses. Live.

An interesting development, considering that the vast majority of techno programming
consists of DJ sets. Mr. Polska deliberately takes a different approach. His new show is not
centred around an artist behind the decks, but around a frontman who combines the energy
of a live concert with the intensity of a rave. Live vocals, performance, crowd interaction and
electronic music come together as one.

At Teletech and Nachtwacht, audiences have already seen glimpses of this approach,
including Mr. Polska handing out Polish pickles to the crowd between tracks. The response
to his shows has been overwhelmingly positive. It is fair to say that Mr. Polska has already
begun to embody the role of the frontman of the rave. He stands at the centre of the energy,
builds tension and directs the dynamics of the show from that position. In doing so, he
clearly distinguishes himself from the traditional DJ set and responds to the growing demand
for distinctive live experiences within the international hard techno scene.

For Mr. Polska himself, the move feels like a natural progression. He has never been defined
by genres; born in Poland, raised in the Netherlands and breaking through within Dutch
hip-hop, he has spent years moving between rap, rave and electronic music. The boundaries
between these worlds have never been as strict for him as they are sometimes made out to
be.

It was not only those around him who recognised this development. Odysseys, the booking
agency behind some of the leading names in today’s hard techno scene, also saw what was
happening and decided to join forces with him. Following a sold-out Dutch club tour and
performances at venues and festivals including Teletech, Nachtwacht and Zwarte Cross, the
coming months will see performances at festivals such as DURO in Spain, Scandal in the
Netherlands and various international shows. Step by step, the new live concept will be
rolled out towards the biggest techno and hard dance stages around the world.

Over the past fifteen years, Mr. Polska has already connected multiple musical worlds. With
this new live act, he is doing the same within the rave, not as a DJ, but as a frontman. An
artist who does not simply bring the music, but draws the energy of the room towards himself
and makes the audience part of the show. His next chapter has begun.
