With Solomun at the helm, the film transports the viewer to the heart of the Great Hall.
A new full-length film from Solomun captures his sold-out February 6th and 7th performances at London’s Alexandra Palace, the second night added due to overwhelming demand, presenting a detailed record of the two nights as they unfolded through the iconic venue. Premiering August 3rd via his official YouTube channel, the film follows the arc of the night from inside the room itself, tracing its progression as it unfolded across the Great Hall. Rather than presenting a fixed view of the set, it places the viewer on different spots in the room, offering a perspective that reflects how the night was experienced on the floor, rather than from a distance.
The footage moves between close shots inside the crowd, wide views of the Great Hall, and aerial drone sequences that highlight the evening’s full production at scale. Together, the angles and storytelling give the viewer a clear sense of being at the heart of the dancefloor, regardless of how or where they’re watching from. Alexandra Palace acts as its own character in the film, long associated with large-scale electronic shows that stand the test of time. For this show, the Great Hall was reworked into a space that felt part warehouse rave, part art installation, and part live concert, with the floor, stage, and visuals all working in tandem.
The film also captures several of the night’s standout moments, including appearances from German hip hop group K.I.Z performing Solomun’s remixed version of their cult classic Samstag Ist Krieg, English indie rap artist Antony Szmierek’s exclusive preview unreleased track Life Affirmer with Solomun, and a performance from Inéz of German art-pop duo ÄTNA, premiering their upcoming release Raider on the Storm. Amongst these, the set features plenty more unreleased music, offering an early glimpse of material still to come from Solomun.
The film arrives as Solomun’s summer season gathers momentum. His Solomun +1 residency has returned to Pacha Ibiza for another season, running every Sunday through October and continuing a concept that has become one of the island’s defining fixtures. Now in its 12th consecutive season and 14th year, the residency remains rooted in extended sets, carefully curated guests, and a close connection between artist and audience. While Alexandra Palace captures a singular moment in London, the film also reflects the wider creative journey Solomun continues to shape across clubs, festivals, and destination venues worldwide.
