Brooklyn-based tech house favorite Westend returns with his latest single, “Feels Better,” out now via his own imprint, Trace Amounts.

Following his anthemic Experts Only release “The Ceiling,” Westend keeps the momentum going with a driving house record inspired by the rush of summer in New York. Written during the Knicks’ unforgettable playoff run, the track captures the feeling of a city running on collective joy through electrifying synths and infectious vocal hooks. Built to command dancefloors from the very first beat, “Feels Better” translates that hometown energy into a record made for peak summer sets.

“I made ‘Feels Better’ in the middle of the Knicks championship run, when you could feel the whole city floating. That joy was everywhere, on the trains, in the bodegas, on the courts, and I wanted a record that carried it. I leaned into that classic chopped sample sound I grew up on, the Daft Punk filter house stuff, and chased the most feel good version of it I could. It’s built to hit at shows and feel like summer in New York.”

Released on his own label, Trace Amounts, “Feels Better” also marks another step in Westend’s expanding creative vision. Launched as a home for his own music and curatorial direction, the imprint continues to showcase forward-thinking house music rooted in groove, personality, and a strong connection to the club.

Since emerging in 2016, the New York native has helped shape the modern sound of house and tech house. His catalogue includes collaborations with John Summit, HUGEL, ACRAZE, and SIDEPIECE, alongside releases on Toolroom, Catch & Release, Solotoko, Dirtybird, and several other respected labels. Beyond his own productions, Westend has spent years mentoring emerging artists through Kick & Bass and launched Trace Amounts as an independent label in 2023.

“Feels Better” arrives during another standout year for Westend, following performances at Day Trip and Electric Forest, and ahead of his upcoming Lollapalooza debut next month. The new single is available now on all major streaming platforms.
